Meet Our Trainers
Frank Pugliese— Master Trainer, Behaviorist
Frank began training in 2005 and created Behavior Plusin 2008. Working with rescue dogs, Frank gained a tremendous amount of experience dealing with troubled animals. Over the years, he developed a strong, confident presence that dogs responded to. Through experience and training, Frank began to write programs based on the individual dog’s behavior.
Using proven techniques, Frank learned to establish a leadership role and create a bond and trust with some of the worst cases. Rehabilitating dogs became a passion, and the Pugliese family opened their home to some of most damaged dogs. These dogs became his pack and now work with clients to help them solve their behavior problems.
Over the past several years, Frank has been called on by several rescue organizations to work with their worst cases. Traveling up and down the East coast, Frank has successfully assisted owners in rehabilitating their dogs.
Frank's principles are simple. Educate the owner and teach the principles of body, mind and soul and your dog will respond. Believing in yourself creates confidence in your dog, and with this philosophy anything is possible.
Today, the Pugliese house has 9 dogs that are all members of his pack. These dogs are called upon to assist in all aspects of training. Whether aggression or basic obedience, nothing teaches you better than the pack.
Looking to the future, Frank has opened a small obedience school for dogs to work in and has provided a quiet, safe place for consultations.
Kristin Orozovich— CPDT
Kristin began working with Frank 2011 after she completed her training sessions for her own dog Dodger that had resource guarding issues. Seeing the success she personally had with Dodger, she then began training with Frank to learn more on dog behavior and since has gained thousands of hours handling dogs from puppies, basic leash control, behavioral issues and aggression.
Kristin completed her course with Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT) and is continually interested in further certifications.
Kristin has recently begun working with our Service Dog program hands on training with dogs to assist owners with disabilities such as PTSD, MS, Autism, anxiety disorders, or depression.
With a business background, Kristin is successful in mapping out the programs for your dog and providing our clients with a program that is created for their specific needs.
Alanna has been a professional pet care provider since 2011. She opened her own business in 2013, and operates out of Cranford, NJ. Focusing on leash handling with her client’s dogs, she handles packs as large as 8 around town. Crossing paths with Frank over 4 years ago, she began attending sessions to learn more about dog behavior. In 2017, Alanna traveled with Frank to learn Behavior Plus’s rehab program.
For the last 3 years, Alanna has been actively training her own dog, Darla. By working with such a large pool of dogs, Alanna is able to implement methods learned from Behavior Plus, and apply them on a daily basis. Alanna is also passionate about Pet nutrition, and understands how food can influence behavior in our pets. When she’s not working, she likes to refer to herself as Darla’s service human.
Kim became a part of the Behavior Plus family three years ago when she hired Frank to help her with her rescue dog, Savannah. She had tried other trainers and a behaviorist to help Savannah with fear of other dogs but all they wanted to do was put her on medication. Then Kim received a recommendation from her veterinarian, at that point their lives changed. Frank modeled for Kim and her husband how to take a leadership role in order to change unwanted behavior. They are now able to enjoy walking and hiking again and even added a new addition to their pack.
Kim has worked with a variety of wild and domestic animals at a local zoo for twelve years. She educated adults and children on a vast array of animal related topics. She continues her love of working with animals by volunteering her time at a shelter, and helping people build a relationship with their pets. She is also certified in Pet CPR and First Aid, a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers and the International Association of Canine Professionals.
